Our History
Toronto/Caribbean Connection for the promotion of Arts and Culture is a non-profit organization registered in the province of Ontario. The organization, as part of its activities has participated over the last 17 years in the annual Toronto Multicultural Carnival, this year being administered by a Festival Management Committee, in collaboration with the Toronto Mas Bands Association.
Toronto/Caribbean Connection has always been one of the top contenders in the festival, and is one of eight category A bands. In 1995, our presentation The Art of Nature won first place and Band of The Year honours at the then Caribana festival. We also won first place in the Junior Kings’ category, second place in the Junior Queens’ category, and first place in the 10-16 Female individual at the Junior Carnival.
Our most recent successes were at the 2008 King and Queen contest, where we emerged victorious in the Queen of Caribana competition, placed 2nd and 3rd in the Junior Male individual competition and also placed 3rd in the Female Individual competition.
